Manchester United have confirmed Rasmus Hojlund’s new shirt number for the 2024/2025 season.
Rasmus Hojlund is poised for a new challenge at Manchester United, transitioning from the number 11 to the iconic number 9 jersey. Initially assigned the number 11 upon his arrival from Atalanta last summer, the Danish forward will now inherit the number 9 following Anthony Martial’s departure.
Ready to lead the line.

Hojlund has the opportunity to draw inspiration from United’s illustrious history of legendary number 9s, such as Sir Bobby Charlton, Andy Cole, Dimitar Berbatov, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as he aims to become the team’s main goal threat. Martial’s tenure in the number 9 shirt was underwhelming, and Hojlund will be keen to forge a different path.
The now-vacant number 11 shirt might be destined for new signing Joshua Zirkzee, who has worn numbers 9, 10, and 11 with Dutch youth teams. The former Bologna player could partner with Hojlund or serve as an alternative up front.
With Erik ten Hag now boasting two high-quality strikers, Manchester United is well-equipped to compete on all fronts next season.
