Fiorentina has approached to sign Cesare Casadei, with the Chelsea midfielder expected to leave in search of first-team football.
Casadei joined Leicester on loan last summer and scored twice in 22 appearances for the Foxes but was surprisingly recalled by Chelsea in the January transfer window. The 21-year-old was afforded just 71 minutes of Premier League football upon his return to Stamford Bridge, leading to interest from several clubs.
Fabrizio Romano reports that three or four clubs are keen on signing Casadei, with Fiorentina contacting Chelsea to discuss the conditions of a deal. Despite his high potential, Casadei has struggled to make a breakthrough in West London.
Casadei has represented Italy up to the U-21 level and starred during the U-20 World Cup in 2023, where the Azzurri finished as runners-up. He scored seven goals to win the tournament’s Golden Ball and Golden Boot awards, including a late penalty to eliminate England in the Round of 16.
